PAUL INCE SAYS WALCOTT IS NOW A BETTER PLAYER AT SOUTHAMPTON

According to Paul Ince, former Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott is now a rejuvenated player under Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl. Ince made the statement while speaking on the Monday Night Football program on Sky Sports. He added that the player has now improved greatly and is currently experiencing an upturn in form since making the decision to swap Goodison Park for the Saint Mary’s.

Walcott switched blue in favor of red by deciding to leave Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton side in order to get more playing time. Both his former club Everton and his current team Southampton are putting up a hot chase for the top 6 positions in the Premier League. Walcott recently helped Southampton secure a surprising defeat over Premier League Champions Liverpool.

And Ince has revealed that he thinks Walcott’s improved performances have to be credited to the masterclass of Ralph Hasenhüttl who, according to Ince, is the reason for the player’s upsurge this season.

Ince said Walcott was not playing many games for Everton and as a result, did not have enough time to impress or show what stuff he is made of. He then said that currently, after being given enough time at Southampton, he has flourished and turned his game around. Ince added that not only Walcott but also James Ward-Prowse and Danny Ings have all stepped up and improved their game, which outlines the fact that their manager is doing a great job at Southampton.

Walcott endured a difficult time at Everton and the decision to move on was a very reasonable one. However, with both Southampton and Everton battling for European spots, it will be interesting to see whether one or both of the teams will achieve their goal.
