ARSENAL URGES BARCELONA TO SIGN WALCOTT

Fans of English Premier League side Arsenal have urged their Spanish rivals Barcelona to take Theo Walcott off their hands as rumours claim the Catalan side wanted to heed online requests for the signature of Jean-Michael Seri.

Following Neymar’s £200 million shock move to PSG, the club has been scrambling to find decent replacement ass not many players are on the Brazilian’s level. The club was linked with Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and the long standing negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for Ousmane Dembele continue. The club was forced to sign fellow Brazilian Paulinho from Brazil while adding Nelson Semedo and Gerard Deulofeu.

Nice midfielder Seri was linked with Barcelona but the club pulled back last minute. Fans on online platforms had urged the club to sign the talented 26-year old, reports say. As the news circulated online, Arsenal fans joined in, pleading with the club to take off Walcott from their hands.

Walcott has been at the club for over a year but had consistently failed to match expectations. He joined as a pacy forward from Southampton as a 16 year old. Arsene Wenger has continued to retain his faith in him but the player has not reached the heights expected of him.

The 28-year old has been linked with a move to West Ham and Everton this summer. However, the player insists on fighting for a shirt in the team. Wenger is struggling to cut down on his squad number but it seems the Frenchman would retain Walcott past this summer window.

Barcelona had agreed a four year deal with the Ligue 1 side and with Seri but they pulled back totally. Reports now claim they have signed Dembele in a move worth €120 million.
