THEO WALCOTT VOWS TO REMAIN AT ARSENAL

Embattled England international Theo Walcott has promised to fight for a shirt at the Emirates Stadium despite links to other Premier League sides like West Ham United and Everton.

The Gunners are hoping to land AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar this summer.

Talks with the Ligue 1 champs have not been as smooth but the Gunners remain hopeful of landing the player this summer. When Lemar arrives, Coach Arsene Wenger would have to make hard choices as Arsenal focus on rebuilding.

The 28-year old Walcott is a transfer target for Slaven Bilic. The Hammers want the pacy winger to join them this summer and they are prepared to spend up to £20 million to trigger his release clause. Walcott has two years on his current deal but it seems Arsenal might finally cut him loose after years of failing to reach his potential.

Lemar has reportedly agreed terms with the north London outfit but the transfer costs are yet to be finalized. Lemar is keen on joining Arsenal but the English side would have to match the valuation of their French counterpart. Reported fees are in the region of £35 million but add-ons could push the fee up to £45 million.

Arsenal have already signed Sead Kolasinac and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. Wenger is not relenting in his Premier League title chase this time after several years of stagnation. Walcott started 23 league matches last term and he has reportedly told friends that he is not leaving the club. However, the tight and desperate situation at the Emirates could see that changing soon.

Yes, Walcott has stayed 11 years at the Emirates but he is contributing less and less. He is in pre-season training as he wants to cement his place in the team but that could change soon when Lemar lands.
