Early Career
Theo Walcott was born in Stanmore, Greater London and grew up in a village of Compton which is near to Newbury. He started to play for A.F.C Newbury and then The Downs School. Theo Walcott has scored more than 100 goals in his only season for Newbury before joining Swindon Town. Then, the young boy joined Southampton. Theo Walcott got his Nike sponsorship deal at the age of fourteen.

Southampton
In season 2004-2005, Theo Walcott starred in the Southampton youth side and reached the final of FA youth Cup against Ipswich Town. He is the youngest player to play in Southampton reverse team at 15 years and 175 days when he came off from the bench against Watford in September 2004. The young striker then become the youngest player to play for the Southampton first team at 16 years and 143 days, come on as substitute in a draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in Football League Championship.
Theo Walcott got his first team debut away to Leed United on October 2005 and scored his first senior goal in the same match.

His rapid rise led him to be named amongst the top 3 finalists of BBC Sport Personality of the Year Young Personality award on December 2005. His impressive performance and massive potential attracted attention from the British media and saw him as the one of the most promising young English talents of his time. Theo Walcott was linked to some Premier League top clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. However, Southampton accepted the bid from Arsenal.

Arsenal
Theo Walcott joined Arsenal with the free of of £5 million, rising to £12 million depending on appearances for club and country on 20 January 2006. It was a record fee for a teenager at the time. He got his professional contract on his 17th birthday on 16 March 2006 and given number 32. Theo Walcott got his Premier League Debut on 19 August 2006, the first day of the season. He was coming on as substitute against Aston Villa and set up a goal for Gilberto Silva. Theo Walcott’s Champion League debut came in the second leg of qualifying round match against Dinamo Zagreb. He broke Cesc Fabregas record as the youngest Arsenal player to play in the European competition. However, the record is beaten by Jack Wilshere. Theo Walcott also got his first yellow card in the same game for taking a shot several seconds after the referee had blown for offside. The young boy had his first start in a home league game against Watford in 14 October 2006.
Theo Walcott’s first goal was in the 2007 League Cup Final against Chelsea at Millennium Stadium on 25 February 2007. The goal doesn’t help Arsenal to lift the trophy as Chelsea’s Didier Drogba scored twice to give Chelsea 2-1 win. His first goal in Emirates Stadium was scored in Champion League match against Slavia Prague.

Theo Walcott, Arsenal

Theo Walcott also got his first Premier League goal against Birmingham City on 23 February 2008. In the Champion League quarter final against Liverpool, Theo Walcott made an impressive run from his own half down the length of the pitch and beat the Liverpool’s defence and set up a goal for Adebayor for the last minute equalizer. Theo Walcott was then assigned number 14 who is worn by Thierry Henry for the season 2008-2009. During the season, Theo Walcott established himself as regular first team player and started as right midfield or winger.

International Career
Theo Walcott started his international career when he got a surprise inclusion in Sven Goran Eriksson’s England squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Theo Walcott was the preference over established Premier League striker like Darren Bent, Andy Johnson, Dean Ashton and Jermaine Defoe. However, Theo Walcott did not make any appearance in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Theo Walcott made his first competitive start in the World Cup qualifier against Andorra on 6 September 2008. He opened his senior international goals taller in the following match against Croatia on 10 September and become the youngest player to score hat-trick for England.
